I tried the british tripods ( bought them from veals) and wasnt blow away by their performance. Yes in theory they look cool but strong tides pull them down.. I prefer the tubes but do did enjoy the bait tray and trace hangers of the tripods.

Malchurn, I like the tripods too but they have to be ON the beach, my rod holders can e placed in the surf and they don't get washed away and there is no chance of someone running over them with a truck.

In Britain we use aluminium folding fishing tripods.much better than tubes, quicker to setup and move,plus they hold multiple rods at the same time.google image search "fishing tripods" |
