I saw your post and decided to reply. I baitcast and I fly-fish. I believe that baitcasting is easier. Something anybody can do. But fly-casting is an art. Its a discipline. It is the greatest challenge in a sense.

the strike, the fight, the feeling is so much heavier than with bait. and the fact that u trick the fish into believing that your fly is an insect. not just allways about getting most fish u know

i'm a beginner, what i don't understand is why don't u simply lure fish i.e what is the purpose of fly fishing when it's simpler to use a heavier lure instead
